A woven design lasts forever. A printed one takes any artwork. Pick knowingly.
Customized Throw Blankets makes throws to order — woven jacquards, cable knits, waffle weaves, surface-printed cottons, hand-knotted fringed throws and recycled cotton.

There is exactly one decision that matters on a custom throw, and most quotes never mention it: is the design going to be woven into the cloth, or printed onto it?
A jacquard throw is built on a loom out of coloured yarns. The design is the cloth. It appears on both faces, reversed on the back, and it cannot crack, peel or fade off because there is nothing sitting on the surface to fail. It will look the same in twenty years.
A printed throw takes photographs, gradients and unlimited colour, at any run size, with no loom set-up at all. It is a surface layer, and over years of washing it softens. Both of those are the right answer to different briefs, and we would rather tell you which is which than quietly sell whichever is easier.
Why we exist
Throws get quoted on weight and colour, from suppliers who treat woven and printed as interchangeable.
So a photographic design gets attempted on a loom and comes back muddy. A crest meant to last twenty years gets heat-pressed on and cracks along a fold line. A cut fringe unravels in the first wash. And a fifty by sixty arrives as a forty-seven by fifty-six because nobody quoted the size after shrinkage.
Woven or printed — how we decide
Woven when the design is a mark rather than a picture, the run is large enough to earn the loom set-up, and the throw is meant to be kept.
Printed when the artwork is photographic, complex, multi-coloured, small-run, or changes every season. The set-up cost is zero, so twelve throws are as viable as five thousand. We quote both when it is genuinely close and let you see the difference.
The edge is what fails first
On a woven throw the fringe IS the warp of the cloth carried past the last weft. Unless each group is hand-knotted, washing pulls those threads and the unravelling travels up into the body of the throw.
A cut fringe looks identical on the shelf and is unfixable a month later. We specify the finish instead of describing it: hand-knotted fringe, tied tassels, a double-folded hem or a whipstitched edge. A raw cut edge is a defect, not a style, and we will not ship one.
We quote the size after washing
Woven cotton can lose five to seven percent on a first hot wash unless the yarn was pre-shrunk and compacted.
So the number on our quote is the finished size, and we say whether the yarn was pre-shrunk. If a supplier quotes you the loom size, the throw you receive is smaller than the throw you ordered and nobody has technically lied to you.
What we actually make
Loom-woven jacquards. Chunky cable and rib knits with the gauge and yarn weight stated. Waffle weaves that are warm for their weight and dry fast. Reactive and pigment-printed cottons — never a heat-applied film, which cracks on a fold. Hand-knotted fringed and tasselled throws. And mechanically recycled cotton with the blend percentage on the quote.
How we price
No dollar figures on this site. Price moves with construction, yarn, size, finish and quantity, and it falls steeply into the thousands. Send the details and a real quote comes back the same day, with a lowest-price guarantee if you are already holding a cheaper one.
What we will talk you out of
A photograph on a loom. A jacquard set-up for two hundred units. The chunkiest possible cable for a rental property. A cut fringe. And re-dyeing recycled cotton to a bright brand colour, which spends the water the recycled fibre saved.
Every one of those costs us money to say and saves you more.
